Catalepsia
Catalepsia - Perturbação psicomotriz caracterizada por imobilidade e inércia de todo
o corpo.
Como o paciente aparenta estar morto, em algumas comunidades espera-se 3 dias antes de sepultar uma pessoa -
ou, então, até o corpo cheirar a putrefacção.
Cataplexy: a state in which sudden muscle weakness and loss of muscle tone occurs, it is caused
by emotions, such as, anger, fear or surprise. It is linked with narcalepsy. An example might be of a
person who has just heard an extremely funny joke. The person becomes suddenly paralyzed and falls
to the floor. The attack is over quickly with no weakness or paralysis. Ref. Mosby Medical
